Divisions
Divisions are used to group and organize teams based on sport, skill level, geography, or seniority. Referees and fields also can be assigned to a division.
The above screenshot shows a list of divisions where you can manage the divisions:
- The list of divisions is displayed in a table format.
- You may sort the list either in ascending order or descending order by clicking on the column labels, such as ID, Name, #Teams, Priority, and Update date.
- For example, click on the Name label to sort the list by division name in alphabetical order.
- Here, #Teams shows the number of teams associated with each division, and Actions can be used to Update and Delete the division.
Adding a division
Click on the green plus icon at the top right corner and enter the following details.
- Name: Provide a meaningful name for the division, which can be used in identifying the list of teams. Example: Division One
- Priority: The priority tells the importance of a division. When presented to the user, the higher priority division appears at the top of the list. The default priority is always set to 5.
- Allow tracking scores and standings: Choose if you would like to allow entering game scores to generate standings for the division’s teams.
- Note: The scores can be updated only for past schedules, and we can check the standings on the website.
- Description: Enter a brief description explaining the skills, competence level, geography, or seniority.
- Note: Adding a description is optional.
Once you have completed entering the division details, click on the Add button. The division will be added to your organization, and the division details page (show page) will be displayed as below.
After creating a division, you can add teams, referees, and fields to your division.
To add teams to the division, perform the following steps:
Click on the Add teams to the division button and then select one or more teams that you would like to add to this division. This option will be visible only when there are no teams added to the division.
While selecting the teams, you can view the teams by alphabetical order, age group, or division.
After selecting the teams, click on Done. The list of teams added to the division will be displayed. To remove a team from the division, click on the red cross icon under the Actions column to remove a team from the division.
To add a referee to the division, perform the following steps:
Click on the Add referees to the division button and then select one or more referees that you would like to add to this division. This option will be visible only when there are no referees added to the division.
The list of referees added to the division will be displayed. To remove a referee from the division, click on the red cross icon under the Actions column.
To add fields to the division, perform the following steps:
Click on the Add fields to the division button, and then select one or more fields that you would like to add to this division. This option will be visible only when there are no fields/courts/facilities added to the division.
The list of fields added to the division will be displayed. To remove a field from the division, click on the red cross icon under the Actions.
After adding the teams/referees/fields to the division, the following two links will be displayed at the bottom of the page.
Schedule games manually: Clicking on this link will open the Add Game modal window, where you can schedule games for the teams present under the division. By doing so, it becomes easier to schedule games between the teams that belong to the same division.
Auto-generate games: Clicking on this link will navigate to the Leagues/Tournaments/Seasons area, where you can use the league auto-scheduler feature to generate the games automatically.
Updating a Division
To update a division, hover the cursor on the three vertical dots icon under the Actions column and click on the Update division.
Update the division details as needed, and after making the necessary changes, click on Update. The changes will be immediately reflected in the relevant areas.
Deleting a Division
To delete a division, hover the cursor on the three vertical dots icon under the Actions column and click on the Delete division.
Note: You cannot delete a division that has teams or fields or referees linked to it. To delete such a division, remove the teams, fields, and referees from the division, and then delete it.
